Wamberal Community Group is a broad based community association founded in 1990. The group seeks to benefit residents by working to protect and preserve the environment, promote healthy activities and enhance community safety.
We need you to help protect our local parks, reserves and open spaces like Benjamin Parker Reserve on Dover and Lakeview Roads.
Council’s negativity is demonstrated by their deliberate attempts to limit community access to their public meetings. So your attendance can demonstrate the strong community commitment to saving our parks and playgrounds.
People will be able to sign the petition to save Wamberal Memorial Hall tomorrow July 2 after they vote.
The hall has been a polling place for every local, State and Federal election since 1922 and the petition is seeking the support of the NSW Minister for Heritage to list the hall as a heritage item.
Bring your ideas and lets have a great time while we make our village an even better place to live at the community meeting 7:15pm Wednesday 29 June at the Wamberal Surf Club.
There is now no impediment to the Central Coast Council demolishing the Wamberal Memorial Hall because of a “mistake” made by Gosford Council when they classified the land as “Operational land” – the same classification used for council works depots or quarries or sewer plants etc.
Council has no ethical right to sell our prized community assets without the consent of the people, especially when the property was privately built on privately donated land.
We need better parks not less parks. You can help save Benjamin Parker Reserve by sending an email or letter to the Central Coast Council.
