Friends of Jackson Williams lay flowers at Willoughby Road

Following the death of a passenger on Sunday night, there is a new Change.org petition to have work done to address safety at the notorious Willoughby Road causeway.
Thee have been a large number of crashes and near misses over the years. The road becomes very slippery even after heavy dew and the golf course frequently has to repair the fence caused by cars hitting it.

We now have 10 sample letters that you, your family, friends and colleagues can send to the Central Coast Council to save the Benjamin Parker Reserve.
The Council report recommends that children play on the narrow strip of land between LakeView Road and Terrigal Lagoon; next to a sewer pump station, open stormwater drains and a busy road on flood prone land. Check out the photos.

Wamberal Memorial Hall saved

In a stunning turn of events, the general counsel at the new Central Coast Council has found that the previous Gosford Council had no power to sell Wamberal Memorial Hall
In 1994, Gosford Council resolved that the Wamberal Memorial, park and playground should be classified as “operational land.” That decision was simply wrong.

Save Wamberal Memorial Hall

There is now no impediment to the Central Coast Council demolishing the Wamberal Memorial Hall because of a “mistake” made by Gosford Council when they classified the land as “Operational land” – the same classification used for council works depots or quarries or sewer plants etc.
Council has no ethical right to sell our prized community assets without the consent of the people, especially when the property was privately built on privately donated land.
