Council rubber stamped a highly controversial industrial sized childcare centre.
Despite some valiant attempts by Councillor Gabby Bowles, safety, planning laws and common sense were not considered properly and the development was approved in record time. Imagine if Council could approve carports, deck extensions and swimming pools this quickly!
And the misinformation from Council continues to spew forth unabated as seen in this clanger on NBN television where the deputy mayor claims child care centres are permissible on this site under the new planning laws. They are not. Only home based child care (not industrial child care centres) would be permitted.
