Benjamin Parker Reserve

Save our parks celebration picnic on Saturday – plus other events

Celebrate our win to protect our reserves this Saturday, October 29 from 12 noon at the Lions Park on the Gosford Waterfront (between the Olympic Pool and the Sailing Club).

Bring a picnic lunch, some chairs, picnic rugs and your sunblock.

You can even grab some fish and chip from Montis.

There is a kid’s playground there and a good grassed area.

This win was the result of a massive community effort to protect 25 local reserves, parks and green spaces so lets celebrate!

Firefighting and fireworks

A community engagement event will be held at Memorial Park, The Entrance on Friday 28 October from 5pm to 9pm. The event will include:

  • Displays from Fire and Rescue NSW
  • Emergency Service Displays from other Agencies (Police, SES, RFS and VRA)
  • A firefighter torchlight parade along Marine Parade
  • Fireworks to conclude the evening.

Creating a Native Garden

The Community Environment Network can show you how to develop your own beautiful native garden.

Imagine listening to the sounds of nature with  native birds, frogs, butterflies & other wildlife … all achieved with Australian Native Plants in your suburban garden. Plan for sustainability and habitat, organic, low maintenance, wildlife corridors and aesthetically beautiful.

It’s on this Saturday, 29 October from Butterfly pic by
Bronwyn Maurer2pm to 4:30pm at the Wadalba Community Centre at 20 Van Stappen Rd, Wadalba

Its free and afternoon tea will be included.

There will be a walk in the Wadalba Wildlife Corridor and free native plants to inspire and get you started.
