The first concert in Symphony Central Coast’s 2017 concert series is this Sunday April 9.
The concert will feature conductor Steven Stanke conduct three pieces from Beethoven, Mozart and Wagner and be accompanied by three soloists from Opera Australia:
- Leah Thomas – soprano
- AndrewBrunsdon – tenor
- Shane Lowrencev – bass baritone
Beethoven’s overture to the ballet The Creatures of Prometheus teems with exuberant joy and Mozart’s 40th Symphony, one of his most well-known and beloved works, is elegantly refined but tinged with a hint of deep disquiet.
Act One of Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) is the second of the four operas in Wagners the Ring Cycle. It tells the story of how the parents of our hero Siegmund met: they were twins separated at birth and instantly fall in love. It is filled with power and drama and one of opera’s grandest projects.
The concert will start at 4:00PM at Central Coast Grammar School (CCGS) Performing Arts Centre.
Cost is $15.00 for a child, $35.00 for concession holders and $40.00 for adults.
You can purchase a ticket online or call 0478708474.
Annual subscription tickets are also available online.
